Rare Deep Mirror Prooflike 1902 Morgan Dollar, NGC MS63 DPL. NGC Census: 2 in 63 DPL, 2 in 64 DPL (3/13). Boldly struck, this virtually untoned Select example exhibits the usual flat details of the so-called C4 reverse die noted on the eagle's breast feathers. The essentially untoned silver-gray surfaces reveal a significant degree of watery reflectivity in the fields. This issue is common in Mint State, but rare in Deep Mirror Prooflike.
Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2008), lot 3259. (Registry values: P4, N1793) (NGC ID# 256M, PCGS# 97279).
