Owner Comments:

The obverse of this GSA is proof-like, but the reverse is spectacular! One look at the "Golden Eagle" and I knew I had found the one I was looking for. NGC didn't give this one a "Star"; I think it deserves one.

This is also a VAM-6, which NGC doesn't recognize. The key features are doubling on the first 8, the first C in the mintmark, and a set of distinctive die polishing lines below the eagle's tail feathers.
