O.108a R1. Finest Known of this tough E/A Redbook variety. On par with the Dale Friend's earlier die state specimen. Surprisingly difficult coin to find in high grade as auction records can attest. This is the late die date of the heavy die crack through the date and expanded and new reverse cracks. Lovely original coin with dramatic strike detail demonstrating the failing die. Discovered raw at a coin shop by David Finkelstein and then sold to Sheridan Downey. Obtained by private treaty with Sheridan Downey on January 9, 2009.
