Owner Comments:
The 1849-O Gold dollar is a somewhat common date in the Type I gold dollar series, but it is much scarcer than the high mintage Philadelphia mint coins, especially in the lower Mint State grades. High grade (MS-64 and better) examples are very scarce to rare.
The coin pictured above is well struck for the date and has mixed coppery highlights, especially on the reverse.
