The Texas State Quarter was released on June 1, 2004 as the 28th coin in the State Quarter Program. Texas’s original Statehood date was December 29, 1845. The reverse features the outline of the State and a Lone Star Symbol. A lariat, representing the State’s cowboy and cattle roots, encircles the design features.
