The Mississippi State Quarter was released on October 15, 2002 as the twentieth coin in the 50 State Quarter Program. Mississippi’s original Statehood date was December 10, 1817. The reverse design features an image of a Magnolia (the State Flower) and the State motto “The Magnolia State”.
