GEM MS 65 1899 Liberty Head Half Eagle in a new NGC holder. Nice to find GEM Gold coin in great condition with a nice sharp strike. In 1899 the Philadelphia mint produced over 1.7 million of these Gold coins. Designer Christian Gobrecht; weight 8.359 grams; composition .900 gold, .100 copper (net weight .24187 oz. pure gold); diameter 21.6 mm; reeded edge. Most of these coins graded to date by NGC are at the Uncirculated MS 62 level or below. NGC Total: 11789 / MS 65 Total: 541 / Better: 124
