Owner Comments:

Nearly 10 Million 1919-D dimes were struck, forming the "first drop" of post-World War Roller coaster that saw Denver dime output go between the highs of 1918 and 1920 and the lows of 1919 and especially 1921, bottoming out in 1922 with that year's null output across all mints.
This premium example Gem is broadly lustrous with a touch of frostiness to the luster and small pools of reflectivity in parts of fields. A green gold overtone graces both sides, faint on the obverse but more prominent on the reverse. Even without the certified grade, this coin would be an obvious candidate for the finest none.
