Owner Comments:

There are 11 varieties of 1810 bust halves, none of them rare. This variety O-101a is easily identified by its network of obverse and reverse die cracks. One wonders how the mint was able to continue producing halves from a die in such a crumbled state. This coin is exceptional for its high grade. It is the highest graded O-101a variety graded by NGC. NGC has only graded 4 O-101a varieties better than AU-53, two MS-63s and two MS-62s. PCGS reports grading just 1 MS-63 O-101a. Some time ago they reported an MS-64 coin, but that coin has now disappeared from their census report.
