Owner Comments:
Well struck gem grade example of a tougher year Jeff. Obverse has an exceptional strike with just the faintest of planchet roughness on the cheek. IMHO a couple of minute dings on the obverse (just to right of mouth, and one almost invisible in hairline) prevent this from a 67. The steps are among the most well defined I have seen on a 60's Jefferson with just two carbon spots detracting from the total look.
In addition to the above, this coin exhibits some of the attributes of improper annealing which was commonplace on late 1950s and early 1960s planchets. While not as dark as some it still is darker than normal.
