My first overdate 8 reales. These may occur at the beginning of the new year series when a lightly used die from the previous year is repunched with the new date, or at the end of the series so that additional dies don't have to be made. From Daniel Frank Sedwick's Treasure Auction 7, April 2010, Lot# 1215 .KM-55; CT-981. 26.7 grams. AVF with spotty toning, no evidence of 8/7 for penultimate digit (as listed in KM) but the 0/9 is clear. Pedigreed to the Mark Bir collection.
