Owner Comments:

The Mount Hood National Forest in Northwestern Oregon started out as the Bull Run Forest Reserve in 1892. In 1908, it was part of the Oregon National Forest. It wasn’t until 1924 that it was named Mt Hood NF. Mt Hood NF is administered by the US Forest Service.
The Mount Hood National Forest quarter is the fifth of 2010 and the fifth overall in the program. I think this is one of the most beautiful coins so far - - and not just because I’m an Oregonian! The coin renders Mt Hood nicely - - all 11,235 feet! It is viewed from Lost Lake. You should see the rest of the State! Mt Hood is just one of many National Forests in Oregon.
