Owner Comments:

This is a P4 issue, Grand Canyon coin found with a Variety Condition. This condition is a light finish. The finish on this coin is different from the regular collector ā€œPā€ coins that have a heavy granular finish due to the vapor blasting method used on the collectors series. The surface on this coin is just a bit more lustrous than the normal collectors strike, but not as lustrous as the bullion strike which can look proof like in some strikes. This coin is a perfect SP70 grade and an Early Release strike, graded by NGC. Photos taken with Sony Cybershot, no flash or filters, just natural light. The coin is the fourth in a series of 56, 5oz. coins in .999 silver, struck by the US Mint. One might also call it the P4V coin in the 2010 series of strikes. With this addition you would need 57 coins to complete the entire set. That is, if no more varieties come out over the next 11 years. This variety in this condition is rare and you will not find too many out there. These collector coins depict our national parks. The starting date is 2010 and the ending of the series will be in 2021. The Grand Canyon, ā€œPā€ coin overall has a low mintage of 27,000. The P collector coins for 2010 were not released to the public until 2011. The NGC census for this coin in SP70 ER is only 8 to this date, 11/3/11.
