1885-S PCGS MS64 PLNice cameo. The 1885-S is a semi-key in the series for prooflikes. The other mints' 1885 dollars, including Carson City (don't let the mintage fool you), are very available in and around gem prooflike.This one is a full cameo with deep mirrors by most standards. The strike is full and the cheek is remarkably clean for a 64. A perfect fit in the set, even if it is not the finest known. The qualities of this coin are uncommon for the date. The grade limitations are related to some minor and nondistracting haze.This is definitely one that is separate from the pack in the grade and would present surprise bids from the floor in an auction with informed and discriminating specialists.Acquired 04/08/2004 from Don Rinkor, ex eBay 3905915531, 04/04/2004 (sxfrk/Detroit).
