Owner Comments:

When Sidney Noe assigned his die variety numbers to the large planchet Pine Tree Shillings, he designated this die combination as the #1 variety. Many numismatists believe that this is not only one of the most attractive Pine Tree Shillings, but perhaps the most attractive coin in the entire Massachusetts silver series. Many examples of this coin are well centered and sharply struck.

The coin shown above is attractive for the design although it no longer has its 350 year old original patina. It is nicely centered with no series defects.
