1884-S NGC MS60 PL VAM-6 (FAR DATE / FILLED S)Extremely challenging date with no survivors above choice and few altogether in mint state. All are grey PLs; no DMPLS and definitely no cameos.Upon initial inspection, this coin looks like a VAM-2 S/S. But the S is filled, which perhaps is also an S/S variety. Neither is particularly rarer than any other variety for the date. The mirrors are indisputable, though not deep. No 1884-S is known with deep mirrors. As for the overall state, they don't get too much nicer. I generally do not like to settle for MS60.
