The 1976 dated quarters, half dollars and dollar coins were struck in 1975 and 1976, with only cents, nickels and dimes dated 1975. This type 2 coin was among those struck in the actual US Bicentennial year, which was also the year Louis Eliasberg, Sr. passed away at the age of 80.
