This is a coin purchased directly from the mint and has a consecutive serial number with the MS version. Jane Pierce had a melancholy existance after the death of their son shortly after Pierce accepted the nomination for President. When in Washington, she spent her time alone in the Gallery at Congress as illustrated on the reverse. One of the sadder First Lady stories, this coin well displays the desire she had that her husband never ran and perhaps she would have not lost her son. As is the case with most MS/PF sets, the frosted devices and mirrored fields set off the artwork in a three dimensional manner.Set includes boxes and coa..
