Superb GEM MS 67 1943 S Zinc-Coated Steel Cent in an old NGC holder. This coin is very clean with a super sharp strike. Copper shortages during the critical war year of 1943 caused these special coins to be created and the San Francisco mint produced over 191 million of these Zinc-Coated Steel Cent coins. Most of the 1943 San Francisco cents graded to date are at the GEM+ (MS 66) level or below. NGC Total 5504 / Same 1883 / Better 13
