Super Nice GEM+ MS 66 1883 "No Cents" Liberty Head Nickel in a new NGC Holder. Harder to find in GEM+ or better condition. Interesting very minor die break in the stars on the obverse provides character. This 1883 "No Cents" is from the first year of Libery Head Nickels (1883-1913). Philadelphia minted 5,474,300 such "No Cents" nickels and most of the Mint State coins saved are in GEM condition or lower. Later in 1883 the word "CENTS" was added to discourage gold plating of these coins and using them as fraudulent $5 gold coins.NGC Total 5896 / Same 427 / Better 50
