The 1866-S No Motto $20 is the second rarest San Francisco minted double eagle, and among the rarest in the entire series in high grades. In 2008, I purchased the NCS AU Details graded coin as a "space filler" while I searched for a better example. Nearly ten years later, I found a coin worthy of the Grandview Collection.
