Owner Comments:

The Georgia Silver quarter was the fourth coin released in the 50 State Quarter Program on July 19, 1999. The obverse side depicting President George Washinton was modified to include some of the wording previously used on the reverse. The modification was autorized by special legislation, and carried out by Mint sculptor-engraver William Cousins, whose initials were added to the truncation of Washinton's neck adjacent to those of the original designer, John Flanagan. The Governor approved the theme on the coin, Wisdom, Justice, Moderation. It features the peach, a silhouetted outline of the state, live oak sprigs, and state of Georgia's motto, "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation. Reverse Designer T. James Ferrell.
