Owner Comments:

The New Jersey Silver Quarter was the third coin released in the 50 State Quarter Program on May 17, 1999. The obverse side depicting President George Washinton was modified to include some of the wording previously used on the reverse. The modification was autorized by special legislation, and carried out by Mint sculptor-engraver William Cousins, whose initials were added to the truncation of Washinton's neck adjacent to those of the original designer, John Flanagan. The Governor approved the theme Crossroads of the revolution. Reverse Designer: Alfred Maletsky. Mintage (804,565) in Silver Proof Sets only
