of the coin depicts a Monkey sitting on a tree branch and the Chinese character for
Monkey, as well as a border of bats among the clouds, symbolizing health,
peace and prosperity. The Obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy
of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. People born in the years 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964,
1976, 1988 and 2000 are born in the Year of the Monkey. The coin is struck from
1 oz of 99.9% pure silver and was issued as legal tender under the Australian
Currency Act of 1965. The Chinese believe Cleverness and versatility figure
