1953 saw the coronation of QUEEN ELIZABETH II and so followed the changes to the obverse designs of all denominations from the farthing to the crown. Wreathed bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right with inscription ELIZABETH II REGINA. All denominations from 1953 to 1960 depict this obverse design save for the 1960 crown.
