Owner Comments:

The obverse design shows the crowned & coronation enrobed bust of King George V with inscription GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR. The reverse design for the Quarter Penny showed 2 sparrows perched on a sprig of mimosa within a circle. The reverse design inscription reads * SOUTH - AFRICA * DATE * SUID - AFRIKA * 1/4D. The changes in reverse design occured after many farthings were struck with the 1926 design. The changes were only in the inscription ZUID to SUID & 1/4 PENNY to 1/4D. This design was used for all subsequent years up to and including 1936.
