This Colorized Australian Lunar Silver Coin celebrates the Year of the ROOSTER.
The reverse of the coin depicts a Rooster with a rising sun and the flower
of a camellia, a Chinese native plant, the Chinese character for Rooster
and the year-date. The Obverse of the coin features Ian Rank-Broadley’s
effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. People born in the years 1921,
1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993 or 2005 are born in the Year of the
Rooster. The coin is struck from 1 oz of 99.9% pure silver and was issued
as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965. People born in
the Year of the Rooster are believed by the Chinese to be among the most
independent of people, aggressive, brash and overly self-assured.
