Owner Comments:

The coin shown has a remarkable obverse strike through extending from Miss Liberty's nose to her right shoulder. This I have learned that was caused by lint from the polishing cloth used on the die. It is aptly referred to as a lint strike through or lint mark. I am stunned that a cloth thread could have such a pronounced effect in a metal (die) on metal (planchet) strike.
