Date/mm Information: Lustrous and attractive usually no step detail

Coin Description:
Deep grey and gold toning with lustrous surfaces. Planchet roughness exists on the cheek, mouth, jaw, and central details of Monticello. Some light but noticeable marks are found but not in the focal areas of the coin.

Comments:
I have viewed several 1969-D Jefferson Nickels graded by NGC. All exhibit similar planchet roughness and the overall lack of detail due to hub deterioration. However, this coin exhibits marks in the hair that are not acceptable for an MS67 coin. In short, the coin is overgraded and belongs in an MS66 holder.
