Owner Comments:

A beautiful example of the US WWII Jefferson "nickel". Starting in 1942 the composition of the nickel was changed to 56% copper, 35% silver, and 9% manganese. This freed the nickel and some of the copper for use in the war effort. The composition results in truly attractive coins, especially in mint and proof states. Coin is from the Omaha Bank Hoard.
