Owner Comments:

Andrew Jackson marked a new era in politics because he was the first common man ever elected president. All six presidents before him were privledge but Jackson was self-made. He was born in a log cabin, his parents were poor and he was an orphan at the age of fourteen. He worked hard to build careers for himself in law and then the army. People liked that Jackson was a common man who had succeeded by working hard.
