Soft pastel sea green, gold and blue toning that is similar to the Gettysburg in this set. This coin is also technically solid for the grade, and not plagued with a lousy obverse strike as sometimes seen. I have seen few Maines that are the equal of this coin in eye appeal. Why it is not a 66* is beyond me (please pardon my limited talents in photography). It being only a 66 keeps it out of the hands of folks that are in a hyper competitive registry points contest and may be tempted to buy coins that in some ways are not as nice. My advice is to buy quality, which does not always correlate with a high grade on a slab. When the registry fad becomes a thing of the past, and eventually it will, there is going to be a serious depreciation for some low quality coins in the highest grade slabs. Those that buy quality for the grade will likely do well. Those that buy a sports car for their egos will also likely get more enjoyment out of their midlife crisis than buying high grade plastic.
