Owner Comments:

This coin has graced a few other Registry sets, and I jumped at the privilege to have it when it was "upgraded" for a 67 slab. There are so very few really nice looking Connecticuts to go around. Why is this coin not in a 67 holder? Just the most minor of things holding it back... but this coin is technically & aesthetically far superior to many in 67 holders. I tried to describe it, but the Albanese Rare Coin site did it best: "The toning enthusiasts' recognize that this is not a commem that tones very often. The obverse is graced by a sky blue and sunny yellow toning around the rims. The center of the coin although lighter than the fields is a soft mauve tone, darkening as it approaches the rim. The reverse features splashes of the same sky blue and yellow with underlying tones of mauve and gold. Extraordinary luster and gorgeous color set this coin apart, one of the most beautiful Connecticut's we have seen, grade notwithstanding." For what it is worth, this is my first CAC endorsed slab. I still have not decided if CAC is necessary (learn to grade for yourself, I always say), but if it helps shore up the prices of properly graded coins, then it is probably a good thing.
