1896 5C PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC. The present Superb Gem is one of just two Ultra Cameo examples of this issue known to NGC, and the better specimen by two grade points (9/08). Unlike many Cameo examples of the Liberty nickel series, which often show indifferent contrast, this Ultra Cameo coin offers bold, eye-catching frost on the sharply struck central devices, and the glassy mirrors offer subtle golden overtones. Beautifully preserved with impressive eye appeal by any standard. The 1896 was the lowest-mintage proof Liberty nickel issue to that time, with total production of just 1,862 pieces 3211400-006
