This is the second “baby Gobrecht” or perhaps “toddler Gobrecht” would be more appropriate. The No Stars dime is many times harder to find in high grade than the half dime. Like its little half dime sister, this coin comes well struck with a cameo like appearance in the higher grades. Subsequently the powers at be would complicate things with stars and draperies, which would impair the sharpness of the design. Oddly enough this was one of the last coins that I found when I took the completeness of my type set (but not the condition, which still a work in progress) to its present level. The specimen shown here is a pleasant but unspectacular coin. It fills the hole quite nicely.
