Owner Comments:
Technical problems with the beautiful Flying Eagle cent design soon prompted the mint to replace it with the Indian cent. The Indian head design was focused in the center of the obverse which eliminated the strike problems the Flying Eagle design had encountered with the wreath on the reverse of the coin. This design was also executed by mint engraver, James Longacre. The weight and thickness of the cent was unchanged.
The present coin is a very attractive MS-64 example with lustrous fields and sharp definition. It is a choice example for the grade.
