Owner Comments:
The last Liberty Head half eagle minted at New Orleans, the 1894 is the 15th of 16 in high grade rarity.
However, this coin is the highest graded by PCGS and probably the finest known. Seemingly common but hard to find in any grade above MS61.
It has an absolutely beautiful deep orange-gold coloration, particularly around the edges with slightly prooflike luster in the central fields. The coin has no significant marks and is completely original. Original examples of this date are harder to locate than the 1893, for some reason.
