Owner Comments:
"Eliasberg" - and the epitome of originality with completely undistribed surfaces showing just a few ticks in the obverse fields. It has dazzling thick frosty luster and superb rich natural golden-orange coloration. The coin was obtained by Eliasberg as part of the Clapp collection in 1942, and before that was in the famous Mills collection sale conducted by Henry Chapman in April of 1904. Second finest known, trailing only the incomparable Pittman coin in an NGC MS66 holder. This coin is a highlight of the Louisiana Purchase.
