A condition census example of this "O" mint Double Eagle. While this date is more common among the New Orleans Double Eagles, it is very rare and more rare than most of the 44 coins set of the Type 1 Double Eagles. This coin has with bold features and attractive lime-green and orange gold color. It is very original, which is rare for this date, with semi-prooflike luster. Cartwheel luster is fully evident on both sides.
The 1852-O Double Eagle is the most common of the New Orleans Double Eagles, but there are only an estimated 12-18 in uncirculated, making this an important coin.
