After the Westward Journey Nickel series ended in 2006, a brand new observe of President Thomas Jefferson was being used. This new design was designed by Jamie Franki based on the 1800 painting by Peale. The Montocello reverse made a comeback but was retouched with a stronger detail of the architecture. The coin specification remain the same. The best part of the design I like is the cursive "Liberty" inscription based on Jefferson’s handwriting. The coin I include in the 21st Century Proof Type Set is the 2007-S which was purchased from an eBay seller in Nov 2007 with a grade of PF70 UC by NGC. The strong cameo on the Jefferso's portrait is so vivid. This is one of the most beautiful coins I have in my collection.
