1922 (San Francisco)



This first year of the Peace Dollar at the San Francisco mint was characterized by coins with very weak strikes. It is very unusual to find this issue with much hair detail at all. Gems are very rare in this issue.



This coin is an exception and deserving of the MS65 grade simply based on its full strike alone. It is also blessed with blast white surfaces, few marks and exceptional mint luster. Clearly a PQ coin, even for the MS65 grade.
