Proof mintage - 22,329

In 1916 Adolph Weinman won a contest among a group of professional artists with his design for the dime. Weinman also won the half dollar competition. Interestingly, the head on the Mercury Dime, minus the wings, also appeared on the Walking Liberty half dollar.

The coin shown above is a very attractive Proof piece with original surfaces.
