Owner Comments:
While President Theodore Roosevelt was the driving force behind this "new" design, he also believed it to be inappropriate to place the name of deity on money. The public outcry was so great that the motto was of course restored. While readily available at grades up to and including MS62, this St. Gauden's design gets fairly hard and expensive to locate in MS63 and higher (at least with original mint lustre). Here's a very nice "PQ" example of this 100 year old type.
