Rich swirling luster combine with a full strike and clean surfaces for eye appeal that is tops. A few scattered nicks in the prime focal area of the cheek on the obv and some wispy toning on the rev limit the grade of this otherwise pristine gem. 1940 saw an increase in production and high grade gem cents from the Philadelphia mint are not difficult to locate. This issue only becomes conditionally scarce at the MS67+ level. Housed in a 7th generation NGC holder.
