Owner Comments:

I acquired this coin on 1/19/2007. Population 1 of 476 as of 1/2007.

The reverse features leaf clusters from the White Oak - the official state tree, and the inscription "The Old Line State," since Maryland is nicknamed "The Old Line State."
The Maryland Line was a formation within the Continental Army, composed of infantry regiments from the state of Maryland. Because of the quality of regiments, George Washington refered to the Maryland units as his "Old Line," giving Maryland one of its nicknames as "The Old Line State."
