Over $11 Million dollars was raised by the selling of the gold and silver Mt. Rushmore commemorative coins, which was given to the Mt. Rushmore National Memorial Society to aid in projects to improve, enlarge and renovate the site. This proof version of the $5 Gold Mt. Rushmore commemorative coin was minted at the West Point Mint.
