This quite common St.Gaudens double eagle is MS-63 graded by pcgs.
Obverse:Obverse of this coin shows very good details of Liberty's dress and an excellent strike with a light weakness on the breast where however luster rolls perfectly also under magnification. Face and hands are bold and rays too with no marks at all. Same light contact marks are present on miss Liberty but nothing in particolar distracting. Field is good but not excellent. Several light marks are present and a couple of them are heavy. Luster id nice round well but not impressive. Eye appeal is nothing more then good.
Reverse:Reverse looks better and the strike is full. Eagle is full detailed in all the feathers, head and tails. Rays are sametime broken with light contact marks and same heavy a bit distracting. Field is good. Same marks are present and same dark spots too, the bigger near the eagle's head. Luster round better then obverese and enlight all the details of the eagle. Eye appeal is very very good.
My opinion:
Surface preservation:3/5
Details/Strike:3/5
Luster:2/5
Eye Appeal:3/5
