1913-S
This very scarce St.Gaudens double eagle is MS-62 graded by pcgs.
Obverse:This coin shows an excellent quality of details. Strike is full with no weakness at all in my opinion. Face, rays and hands are bold. Field is satin and only same light bag marks are present. Same heavier marks are on the miss Liberty but not so much distracting. Luster is very good but not exciting, round well in particolar on borders and field.
Reverse:Usually reverse of the st.gaudens design is better the obverse but not for this coin. The strike seems to be weak and the feather back to the eagle's neck and border of the wings present no bold details. Field and rays are full of minimal contact marks in particolar near the eagle head. More light marks are on the last feathers of the eagle's wings. Luster is very good but like the obverse not excellent.
My opinion:
Surface preservation:2/5
Details/Strike:2/5
Luster:3/5
Eye Appeal:3/5
