Good prooflike fields still shine through this slighty circulated 1892-S PL Morgan. The gold rim toning surrounding the obverse and reverse perimeters sets the tone for the nice looking eye appeal. The obverse shows a light haze with the hair above the ear exibiting rub from being on the streets of commerce for awhile. The reverse displays a slight cameo of the devices with clear 4+ deep mirrors. This 92-S is the vam 1 (normal die) with the S mint mark centered and upright. A few die varieties exist and only the Vam 2 which is in the Top 100 is significant because of the strong doubled date and rarity. Prooflike specimens are very elusive with only 11 PL'S so far graded at NGC and no DPL'S to date. I consider myself lucky in the hunt to bag this prize and have it put away in my collection.
