Owner Comments:

Mintage for this date was 24.000 pieces. Early production coins had strong lettering, date and mintmark. Coins with these characteristics are rare. Apparently early on, clashed die problems became severe and the dies were lapped to remove the heavy clash marks. After die lapping, obverse lettering and reverse wreath details, date and mintmark were weak. This coin is one of the many struck from the lapped dies.
